This is an informal leadership role that will span process & systems expertise, project management, operational excellence and governance. You will have the opportunity to make significant impact on how North American Procurement Operations end to end processes operate with an eye on standardization, harmonization, productivity and effectiveness while improving service to the customer. You will identify opportunities to modernize and maintain reporting mechanisms, respond to the changing needs of the organization, create, analyze and interpret data, identify, reduce and eliminate inefficiencies in our processes and systems.

You are open minded and interested in applying your existing subject matter expertise and experience to developing the continuous improvement vision for our future.  You are collaborative and can initiate strategic development, building tactical process and system design.  You can manage implementation, driving CI and help develop colleagues/practitioners knowledge and capabilities.


You are structured and methodology driven but have the flexibility to leverage a startup mentality and adopt different techniques and tools based on the specific business problem identified – an agile mindset. You align to strategic direction and enjoy a hand’s-on approach. The ability to easily navigate ambiguity and complexity, with the ability to find simple solutions to complex problems will be key to success in this role.

Process Expert:

  • Serve as a Procurement Operations subject matter expert, being engaged in tactical design to implementation, performing stakeholder analyses, risk assessments, driving continuous improvement, proposing policies and processes.
  • Evaluate and optimize existing workflows and processes to better support Procurement Operations team members and improve efficiency in how the team operates partnering with the operational managers.
  • Build a deep understanding and document repository of the “as is” GN policies, processes, data, systems and capabilities.
  • Act as a SAP system operator accountable for the design and implementation of SAP capabilities supporting the Procurement Operations work-streams; material master data, purchase order execution and fulfillment, delivery processing, billing, and related reporting.
  • Evaluate, manipulate and build out non-SAP systems in the support of the Procurement Operations work-streams.
  • Provide systems support between Procurement Operations and IT service areas.
  • Assess and provide consultative guidance and coaching necessary to enhance external and internal service capability, productivity and effectiveness.
  • Provide training and guidance to Procurement key users.
  • Support acquisition onboarding including but not limited to – reviewing technical blueprints for adherence to Procurement Operations standards, identify strategies to support effective and efficient cutover of master data, advise project team members on best systems practices.


Project Management & Change Management:

  • Interact with all workstreams – technical, reports, change management, project management and more. Work directly with IT on initiatives, challenging our ways of working and system capabilities as defined by IT.
  • Act as a key advocate of operational excellence and efficiency with all stakeholders.
  • Scope and implement change projects that will deliver continuous improvement to service levels and cost effectiveness – change management projects may include changes to policies, processes, data, systems or capability.
  • Support the vetting of new systems for Procurement Operations, gathering department requirements and ensuring systems meet the functional and GUI requirements established.
  • Prioritize and manage deliverables to ensure that all aspects of the change get appropriately managed.
  • Complete a change impact assessment to understand the impact of change on all stakeholders particularly on customers.
  • Lead business testing teams, training input and deployment of new capabilities to all Procurement Operations functions.

Experience optimizing Supply Chain in areas of plan, supply and deliver processes and technology is preferred. Flexibility and adaptability are key attributes needed for success, you should also have strong analytical, project management and leadership skills to handle a variety of activities and complexities spanning the organization. You are willing to work at both a very detailed and strategic level.


Education, Training:      

  • Bachelor’s degree with a procurement/supply chain, technical or business systems application focus and two years experience working in Procurement or technical roles. Additional experience may take the place of the degree requirement.
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification preferred
  • SAP Certified Application Associate is a plus


Experience Required:   

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and in written form.
  • Experience with Powershell and JDA is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years Supply Chain processes in SAP or similar ERP.
  • Good understanding of key master data in a Procurement/Supply Chain ERP system.
  • Proficient at leading multiple efforts simultaneously including working with international teams.
  • Experience leading process improvement / continuous improvement initiatives using best of breed industrial practices and tools.
  • Proficient knowledge in process mapping and other process analysis techniques.
  • Proven ability to operate autonomously across multiple teams in a matrix organization including acting as a liaison between functional teams and IT to ensure adherence to business requirements.
  • Contribute practical and pragmatic thought leadership to the development and evolution of the SAP ERP & bolt on technology design and methodologies working with our internal IT team.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and lead teams of people through projects to successful completion.
  • Strong ability to lead teams with or without direct reports; natural leader and motivator, lead through influence.
  • Engage in process measurement development, compliance, key performance drivers, improvement
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources
  • Influence decisions and change management through collaboration, leadership and a customer- focused approach within a large and disparate organization.
  • Relevant project management qualifications preferred.





North American l travel required (up to 5%) and depends on business needs.
