The role is based at Middlesbrough site and reposting directly to the Technical Manager. The role is between an office environment, a food manufacturing production environment and a large scale warehouse environment. A proportion of international travel is required in this role due to auditing, primarily in Europe, with a possible small portion worldwide. – Due to current restrictions travel is limited at this time.

 

You will be responsible for Raw Materials, Packaging & Co-Manufactured product and supplier approval. This is an internal and external facing role with interactions and exposure to both customers and suppliers.

 

The opportunity where you will make an impact:

  • Managing the Supplier & Material approval processes for Raw Materials, Packaging & Co-Manufacturers (Co-Mans) and products, whilst working directly with the suppliers to ensure compliance with company requirements and relevant legislation.
  • Audit all suppliers in line with site requirements.
  • Working with site R&D & Procurement to ensure materials and Co-Mans selected for development meet company requirements and legislation in country of sale.
  • Liaise with Procurement over selection and approval process for Raw Material, Packaging Suppliers & Co-Mans.
  • Manage and maintain records and reports associated to supplier and material approval status.
  • Maintain Quality KPI dashboard for supply base with trend analysis to ensure Continual Improvement.
  • Liaise with R&D during trials and product launches to ensure new products conform to standards and specifications with release as required.
  • Where required attend 1st production of new Co-Man products and give final release approval
  • Lead Supply complaint investigations, working with both internal and external teams
  • Ensure product quality by ensuring specifications and GPN requirements are met by all Suppliers
  • Ensure positive release of all Co Man product on SAP using COA where relevant
  • Working with 3rd party warehouse and distributors manage any held / rejected stock incidents ensuring physical segregation/identification and Quarantine of stock where required.
  • Ensure a strong and open working relationship is maintained with all supplier teams at all levels to be confident of high standards communications and the reduction in the likelihood of product safety or quality failures.
  • Carry out investigations and projects as directed by the Technical Manager.

 

What you will bring to GPN:

  • Previous experience in Quality / Technical is essential
  • Lead auditor Certification is essential
  • The ability to drive both in the UK and worldwide for business is essential
  • The ability to work in a fast moving rapidly changing business is essential
  • Degree or HND in Food technology or equivalent
  • Level 3 Food Safety or above
  • Level 3 HACCP Certification or above
  • Flexible and be able to work as part of a team, covering for holidays where needed
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft packages), SAP, QADEX or alternative
  • Possess a good verbal and written communication
  • Strong time management and organization skills are essential
  • Ability to dealing with ambiguity
